More Perfect Union, a non-profit news organization based in Washington, D.C., is shedding light on Johnson and Johnson’s questionable legal tactics used to try and escape accountability for its cancer-causing products.
For years, thousands of women and families have sought justice, claiming that J&J’s iconic baby powder led to devastating health consequences, including ovarian cancer. Instead of facing these claims, the pharmaceutical giant has employed aggressive legal strategies to delay and deny victims’ rights and limiting their ability to seek justice in court.
The documentary details the so-called Texas Two-Step and begs the question, “why would one of the world’s most profitable companies file for bankruptcy?”
“If a company can get by with these types of tactics, then the American people are in serious danger,” trial lawyer Andy Birchfield told More Perfect Union, warning of a dangerous precedent for consumer protection and corporate accountability.
